Big Expansion for NPL-Ditemsa

Background

During the first two years of the Joint Venture NPL-Ditemsa made investments of more than $2m in new technology and introduced new working practices. These changes resulted in much higher productivity and better quality which led to a 50% increase in annual sales.

In February 2005 we moved to the next stage of our plan for expansion by taking over the Plastic Injection Mold business from SEPROSA, a subsidiary of Grupo Industrial Saltillo which operates in an adjacent building to our plant in Saltillo. This additional business dramatically increases our capacity and enables us to offer plastic injection mold tools as well as foundry tools.

Summary of Additional Resources

3,750 sq m (40,000 sq ft) of additional plant and offices
75 additional people including 7 European plastic injection mold specialists

4 CNC EDM machines capable of taking components up to 3.2m x 1.5m
10 large 5-axis CNC machines with capacities up to 3.7m x 3m x 1.1m and spindle speeds up to 28,000 rpm
4 smaller 3-axis CNC machines with spindle speeds up to 20,000 rpm
